Who is responsible

Showwondergadget Ltd is responsible for personal information it processes in connection with this publication. Our registered office is 18 Mercer Street, Dublin 2, D02 Y038, Ireland. Company no. 748291. Contact us at [email protected] for privacy questions or requests.

Information used to deliver the site

When your browser requests a page, the hosting infrastructure receives technical information such as an IP address, request time, requested resource, browser information and response status. Hosting and security services may retain access or error logs to deliver the site, diagnose problems and prevent misuse. These technical records are not created by the contact worksheet.

Where personal information is involved, our basis for necessary site operation and security is our legitimate interest in providing a reliable publication and protecting it from abuse. This site’s own scripts contain no advertising trackers, analytics beacons or fingerprinting code.

The local message worksheet

Text entered on Contact is used locally to create a preview. The worksheet does not make a network submission or store its fields in cookies or localStorage. Copy uses your browser’s clipboard facility when available. Download creates a text file on your device. Your browser, operating system or clipboard software may handle those local outputs under their own settings.

If you leave or reload the page, the tool does not retain the draft. Browser form restoration may behave differently according to your browser settings. Avoid using shared devices for sensitive correspondence.

If you email us

Sending an email shares your address, message and any attachments with us and the email providers involved. We use that information to review enquiries, assess corrections and respond where appropriate. Our basis is our legitimate interest in managing editorial correspondence; legal obligations may also require particular records to be retained.

Routine correspondence is normally retained for up to 12 months after the last substantive exchange. Material supporting a published correction, an unresolved dispute or a legal obligation may be retained for longer where necessary. We do not need passenger travel documents or confidential airport information; please do not send them.

Sharing and international processing

Hosting and email service providers may process information on our behalf. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell personal information. Where a service involves a transfer outside the European Economic Area, applicable data protection safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, are required.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure or restriction of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Data portability applies where its legal conditions are met. Where processing depends on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Email the desk with enough detail to identify the relevant correspondence. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. You may complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission or another competent supervisory authority.
